Health professionals from Mexico and Latinamerican countries have a limited access to continous education because the high cost of it. We joined forces with Supercourse (SC) team to develop the LatinAmerican Supercourse (LASC) in Spanish, to correct this.
In two years, we had almost 30,000 access and almost 4000 evaluations of lectures. Also, we obtained that at least one lecture in the first ten of the ranking in google(r)search in almost all categories of LASC.
One objective of LASC is the Just-In-Time lectures. A lecture made for a team on an event in the world that affect the health (disastres, epidemic or pandemic diseases, etc)to treat the "fear epidemiology".
In March 2009, arose a outbreak of a influenza-like disease. We alerted to Supercourse team to launch a lecture on this issue. In April, same year, Rashid A. Chotani and the Supercourse team launched the first version in the web page of SC in English, Russian and Spanish; the lecture was updated daily for 10 days and then monthly with the course of pandemic influenza in the world. In the 15th version, it was translated into 14 languages.
We obtained rates of access to webpage ten times higher than access normal, into English and Spanish version.
Our lecture was a comunication channel between health professionals in LatinAmerican NorthAmerica, European and Assian countries. Our lecture was used in some LatinAmerican countries as educative material for health professionals and general population.
This is an overview of the impact of Supercourse and LatinAmerican Supercourse on health professionals.
