The Alexandria Center for Hellenistic Studies has the privilege to be based in Alexandria, the capital of the Hellenistic world.
The Alexandria Center for Hellenistic studies is situated in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, which is provided with outstanding facilities, including a vast book collection, high technology services and its own museum. Thus, for our students, the Hellenistic studies could not be just an academic occupation, but actually an everyday experience in the city of Alexander the Great, the Ptolemies and Cleopatra. In other words, the ‘physical’ contact with the Hellenistic past in combination with the systematic academic work will be a unique encounter.
