Pharaonic representation of the Ptolemaic Kings and Queens (Lecture)

The scholar has selected the Late period of Pharaonic reign because it preceded the Ptolemaic era and had some distinctive artistic royal features continued on the portraits of the Ptolemaic kings and queens. This conference comprises a comparative study between the royal portraits of the Late Period and the Ptolemaic period to project the Pharaonic features and Greek characteristics which were considered as foreign or strange for the Egyptian art like hairstyles. The scholar is therefore seeking to gather sufficient and available information concerning the royal representations of the Late Period and the Ptolemaic era either statues or reliefs, in order to give a profound analysis.
