The Social Tenure Domain Model (STDM) was developed to suit customary and informal tenure, which conventional land administration systems cannot handle. A first prototype can be used to support the land administration of the poor in urban and rural areas. It can be linked to the cadastral system.

The alignment of pastoralists’ seasonal land rights with those of non-pastoralists within a legal framework for property rights in land administration is examined, using the case of northern Kenya. Legal provisions will be needed for migration corridors and dry season grazing.

This paper examines whether the federal structure of aid-receiving countries matters in explaining aid effectiveness. Using panel data for up to 59 countries, the authors investigate the interaction between financial assistance and decentralization as anti-poverty instruments.
