Nahdet El Mahrousa and Yahoo! Maktoob underscore their commitment to social entrepreneurship in Egypt by announcing a new program. The 'Social Innovation Starts With YOU!' Program is an unprecedented online campaign to motivate and encourage social entrepreneurship among young Egyptians.
Starting June 28th, a competition will launch where we invite individuals from across Egypt to submit their great ideas for social entrepreneurship in the fields of education, health, environment and a wildcard category. The ideas will be judged and the ten greatest ones will be honored with a share of $250,000 in monetary grants in addition to training and mentoring support for three years to help ensure their success.
Also as part of the program, nine successful Egyptian social entrepreneurs will be featured on the 'Social Innovation Starts With YOU!' website (http://eg.socialinnovation.yahoo.com), sharing their compelling stories and providing advice to up-and-coming entrepreneurs. Visitors to the website can vote for the entrepreneur who they think is the most inspirational.
In partnering with Yahoo! Maktoob, Nahdet El Mahrousa is furthering its mission to engage and activate young Egyptian professionals in the development and public arenas and in shaping Egypt's future. The 'Social Innovation Starts With YOU!' campaign will provide a valuable platform for budding social entrepreneurs in Egypt to help make their enterprise ideas become a reality, as well as help existing social enterprises scale up.

About Nahdet El Mahrousa
Nahdet El Mahrousa (NM), in Arabic meaning the Renaissance of Egypt, is a youth-led non-governmental organization, established in November 2003 that seeks to make a positive and lasting impact on Egypt's cultural, economic and social development through activating and engaging Egyptian youth in the country's development, public work and decision-making arenas.
NM achieves these goals through its core program, the "Incubator of Innovative Social Enterprises," which acts as a vehicle for social innovation.

About Yahoo! Maktoob
The partnership between Maktoob and Yahoo! was established in 2009 with the aim to strengthen and support Arabic content on the internet in the Middle East region. Furthermore, this partnership will involve adapting existing products to the Arabic language while also working with local developers to develop and offer new and compelling products. The current focus is to facilitate the growth of online Arabic content to accommodate the increasing number of internet users searching for information in the language.
Contribution of Yahoo! Maktoob: Yahoo! Maktoob is funding the project as well as assisting with Marketing.
Project Mission: Yahoo! Maktoob, and Nahdet El Mahrousa are spearheading an unprecedented online campaign called “Social Innovation Starts With YOU!” to encourage social entrepreneurship among young Egyptians.
