The Festival is operated by the Greater Amman Municipal Government as a not for profit Festival- Mayor Omar Maani.

Project Mission: To showcase comedy from around the world each year in the Middle East
Project Objective(s): To encourage more Arabs to become active in the arts – especially stand up comedy and to attract positive coverage for Amman and the region by showing Arabs being funny

Target group(s) :All ages but especially younger Arabs to become active in comedy and the West in showing the embrace of stand up comedy

US involvement/contribution within the project : Comedians from the US make up over half the comedians in the Festival plus the Festival is produced in association with the US based NY Arab-American Comedy Festival

Achievements/progress to date: Grown from 4 nights of shows first year to 7 nights all sold out and plus extensive positive media coverage in Middle East and Western media outlers
