Biography:
Prof. Osman is a prominent Egyptian statistician. He is a Professor of Statistics at the Department of Statistics, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Biostatistics from Case Western Reserve University, USA. In addition, he holds a M.Sc. in Applied Statistics from Cairo University, Egypt. Prof. Osman has a broad technical and consultancy experience in several fields, among which are, survey methodology, public opinion polls, demographic studies, poverty targeting, statistical policies, and public policies. He acted as a consultant for several distinguished regional and international organizations such as the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development, Saudi Arabia, the Economic Research Forum (ERF), UNICEF, The Canadian International Development Research Center, UNDP, and UNCTAD. Moreover, Prof. Osman is a member of the Policies Supreme Council-National Democratic Party, the International Association for Statistical Education, the American Statistical Association, IUSSP, the International Union for Scientific Studies in Population, American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR), World Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR), and The World Future Society.
