Again we shall meet in our new Astronomy Night!

 During this night, we will tackle some common misconceptions about astronomy, including the following intriguing topics:

 - The midnight Sun: Is it fact or a superstition? And, where does it occur?
 - The zodiacs, the stars, and astronomy versus astrology!
 - The motions of Earth and the Sun: How do they occur? And, what is their influence?
 - The four seasons and the temperature change: How and why do they occur?
 - The locations of sunrise and sunset: Are they fixed or changing? 

 Do not forget! There will be an observing session, to observe the Moon through the telescope, and view its surface features and craters, and also to observe Jupiter and its Galilean moons, as the planet is approaching Earth, and will be closest to our planet in this year, on 5 January 2014.

 The event will be on Thursday, 9/1/2014, at 5:00 p.m., at the Library’s Planetarium Theater. The event is open to public.

 The lecture will be conducted by Eng. Essam Gouda, the General Coordinator of the Egyptian Society for Astronomy, and Member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences
