In
conclusion, there are complex and extensive aspects to memory, but also discreet and
specific functions. Memory is not like a computer.
It is reconstructive, and relies on creative processes. These are more apparent when
trying to recall events rather than facts.
The relevance to medical practice is, apart from being
presenting clinical problems, that memory is the means people use to provide you with
answers to your history taking questions, and even those questions themselves.
