This slide mentions that this is an ecological study in which injury rates are being compared between areas. The results show that apart from assaults and some sports fracture rates are similar in deprived and affluent areas. This does not necessarily mean that fracture incidence in deprived and affluent individuals follow the same pattern . Different results between individual and area based studies is referred to as the ecological bias. |
