In many areas, it
has been documented that the magnification of malaria cases is closely
related with climate conditions. However, many medical and climate
professionals have either lacked knowledge or show less concern for the
variation of the climate conditions that accompany the transmission of
malaria. Also, in many cases, the link between climate and medical data
has not been well defined, and health information systems have been weak due
to the lack of case detection, irregularity in reporting, under reporting
and poor coordination. For malaria control, an effective and efficient
information system is needed, which includes climate data and health
parameters, as an appropriate strategy to improve the monitoring of the
occurrences, distribution and control of malaria in different geographical
areas and time periods. |
