The therapist
would ask the senior about tasks and activities that they currently perform
(activities of daily living, social, and leisure activities) and probe about
the environment to see if there are any especially hazardous constraints for
that individual. (For instance, having to climb a set of steep concrete
stairs when walking to the grocery store). The therapist would also find out
about how fearful the senior is in performing the activities, and what
activities are being restricted or avoided due to fear of falling. ( Of
restricted activities, which are necessary for independent living or
meaningful for a person to pursue) |
