In the same study, obese women with previous GDM (Op GDM) showed significantly higher levels of plasma insulin compared with the other two groups. Non-obese women with previous GDM (NOp GDM) had similar responses than control women. These results provide additional support to the relationship between obesity, hyperglycemia and insulin resistance.
