According to a
study conducted by Steve Blair of Cooper Institute, Texas, Hazard ratios
were higher for cardiovascular mortality (1.39 [P > 0.10], 1.53 [P < 0.05],
1.95 [P < 0.05] for the categories). Similar hazard ratios for the same
comparisons were found for men for all-cause mortality (hazard ratios, 1.25,
1.44, and 1.49 [P < 0.05 for each]) and cardiovascular mortality (hazard
ratios, 1.39 [P < 0.06], 1.55 [P < 0.06], 1.67 [P < 0.05]). Physical
activity did not predict mortality. |
