§Geographically,
Indonesia is an archipelago with more than 18,000 small and large
islands. It
spreads across 6° North Latitude to 11° South Latitude and from
95°to 141° East Longitude. The land
territory is around 1,890,000 Km²
§Administratively,
it is divided into 30 Province, 325 districts, and 91
municipalities. It covers
5,054 subdistricts, 62,080 villages and 6,918 hamlets.
§Demographically,
the Indonesian population is 214,374,096 people with density 108
people/

and
population growth is 1.59 %. The population density in Java island
is higher than that in
outside of Java island.
§The percentages of 0 – 14
years old, 15 – 64 years old, and
65+ years old are respectively 29.57 %, 65.90 %, and 4.53 %.
The dependency ratio is 51.75. In 2003 the Indonesian economic
growth was 4.10% and GDP was
8,300,000 Rupiahs. The Percentage if people who can read
Latin is 90.07%, those who can read other letters is 0.87 %, and
those who are illiterate is 9.07%.
Note :
2 of 30 Provinces in Indonesia
have special privilage, first, Province of Nanggroe Aceh
Darussalam (NAD) that implements Islamic law. It suffered from
Tsunami in 26 December 2004, and second, Province of Daerah Istimewa
Yogyakarta (DIY) whose Head of Province is a King of Yogyakarta. It
suffered from Earthquake in 27 May 2006.
