Retrospective school surveys are commonly used
to measure immunization coverage. Schools are selected using a probability
proportional to the size of the school to ensure that every child has an
equal chance of being selected. School immunization records are examined and the dates of vaccine administration and the birth dates of children are extracted. Algorithms are then created to retrospectively measure coverage at different ages and often these coverage measures are compared with the National Immunization Survey (to be discussed later). |
