So that history gives just a little background
to why the public health community does not feel comfortable “working
together” with the tobacco industry to sort this problem out, nor does it
trust the tobacco industry to do so itself without being required to. The big concern is that many of these new “potentially reduced harm” products may be simply new versions of light cigarettes, which may not be any less harmful, and will just repeat the “Lights and Milds disaster” for public health. |
