The majority of avian adenoviruses are non-pathogenic intestinal infections but they can overtgrow egg-grown vaccines. Pathogenic viruses include avian adenovirus 127 which replicates in the oviduct to cause an egg drop syndrome, it is now controlled by vaccination of layers.
