Worldwide nurses receive minimal training on disaster preparedness. The World Health Organization (WHO) report 2006 acknowledges that nurses lack knowledge and skills in disaster and recommends that nurses to be involved in planning, policy-making for disaster preparedness and response. Furthermore, WHO demonstrates that training nurses will have a great impact on risk reduction and response to a disaster.
