The original 1969-1973 computer-stored pharmacy data resulted from the FDA supported project at the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in San Francisco, California followed by further grant support when the FDA contract ended in 1970.  In addition to the pharmacy data, outpatient clinic diagnoses were recorded by the center’s physicians but little used for the pharmaceuticals and cancer study. We are grateful for the support for this project we have had through grants from the National Cancer Institute since 1977.
