I believe that epidemiology is the
powerful root that supports continuous advancement in medicine. Epidemiology is the
foundation of medical research and is a mandatory component of medical education and
practice. Epidemiology and biostatistics are two complementary disciplines forming
together a single rubric and there is no advantage in looking at them as different
specialties. Many health practitioners don't realize the importance of the epidemiologic
principles and concepts. Thus, there is a special obligation to ensure that all health
practitioners understand and apply the bases of epidemiology in their fields. |
