Some students may be familiar with CQI and have heard it referred to as the PDCA model (Plan, Do, Check, Act) .

Stress that changes must be defined and measured. CQI processes are not expected to make earth-shaking changes but rather accomplish many small improvements with an occasional failure. However each cycle, if measured and studied, can create new knowledge and understanding.
