Unfortunately, as smoking has grown in the developing world, programs to combat
it have not. International tobacco control efforts have few resources. Recent
analyses done by the ACS suggest that less than $100 million per year is spent
on international tobacco control, outside of the US, Canada and Australia.
Compare this to the $1.8 billion spent on tobacco control in the United States
alone. The ACS will play a role. |
