In regard to all
types, people who frequently consumed Western foods were about twice (OR=1.82, 95%
CI=1.14-2.89) as likely to be cases as people who infrequently consumed Western foods. In hearing loss subgroups, people who frequently consumed Western foods were about three times (OR=3.05, 95% CI=1.29-7.19) as likely as those who infrequently consumed these foods to be cases with flat-type hearing loss. In other four subgroups, people who frequently consumed Western foods had odds ratios greater than one (ranging from 1.22 to 1.95) , but the differences between these and their respective reference groups were not statistically significant. |
