I have a couple of niggles. Firstly the golden rule of giving a powerpoint presentation is to keep it simple and provide detailed information in the form of handouts. A journal article will give more information, provide more discussion of results etc.

Also peer review.....Of course we should all be capable of evaluating the quality of what we read, but in practice we are not always able to do this. I take comfort in the fact that I know that a quality journal would have checked the statistical calculations and made sure that the biochemical tests are appropriate etc.

I am on the editorial board of a couple of journals and I try to take a positive approach to papers that I review. I wee my main role as being to improve the quality of the paper through feedback to authors so that all the important information is provided.

One final point about the supercourse. It would be good to be able to download the entire powerpoint presentation rather than having to work shrough it on line. As a lecturer I rarely want to use somewone elses materials in their entirity but want to take and adapt them to my own needs. Please include a download facility!
