It’s obvious that in
most women who are pregnant, the placenta and uterus are being perfused but the perfusion
goes away when she lies on her back and comes back when she stands up. The question is
whether they have a problem with that. If you measure markers of oxidative stress it’s
increased in normal pregnancy a little bit. What we’re wondering about is if you have a
setting with abnormal uterus and placental perfusion, where you don’t have normal
vascular development, is it possible that the same things that you could otherwise handle
couldn’t be handled when you generate oxidative stress? |
