. The data includes all Air Force members that completed the 1998 Air Force Marathon at Wright-Patterson AFB in September 1998. Run times from AF Marathon Office were matched with cycle ergometry data in the AF Fitness Program Office.

- Approximately 1 percent of the runners did not pass their cycle ergometry assessment in 1998

--- One male ran marathon in 4:42; needed a VO2 score of 31 to pass, received a 30 (Jun 98); 71" and 182 pounds; entered into SFIP in Jun 98 (has not yet retested)
--- One male ran marathon in 5:01; needed a VO2 score of 32 to pass, received a 31; 67.5" and 201 pounds
--- One male ran marathon in 6:56; needed a VO2 score 35 to pass, received a 33; 77" and 238 pounds; retested in Apr 99 and received a passing score of 35.
