Attributable fraction is often used to infer proportion of disease that can be explained by (attributed to) a given exposure. Probability of causation is required by the courts in assessing liability. It is tempting to use attributable fraction to quantify probability of causation when, in fact, attributable fraction is not a distinct measure. |
