factors have been identified. While the primary risk factor is poor indoor air quality,
human and psychological factors also affect the occurrence of symptoms. Building characteristics: mechanical ventilation with air conditioning, new or renovated buildings, wall to wall carpet, water damage. Indoor environments: low ventilation, low humidity, high temperature, chemicals (volatile organic compounds, environmental tobacco smoke, perfume). Work conditions: video display terminal, photocopying machine, overtime. Human factors: female gender, younger age, history of allergy. Psychological factors: work overload, control of work, co-worker support. |
