Everything on this Web site can be accomplished through mouse clicks. The user can choose the type of cancer to map, time period, race, sex, number and type of ranges (mortality rate intervals), geography (state, state economic area, or county), and color for the highest and lowest range (the software interpolates the intervening colors).

The user can zoom in, zoom out, or pan around the map, as well as view a single geographic region. Each map is accompanied by a table with values for the specific geography being viewed.
