U.S. Population Aged 65 Years
and Older, actual and Projected, 1900-2030
|
The U.S. population, as is true with most developed countries, is aging. Also,
the absolute number of older persons is projected to double by 2030 as the large
“baby boom” generation ages. However, the absolute number of older persons
in developing countries, such as India and China is increasing, as well, so, a
worldwide aging challenge exists. Therefore, epidemiologic studies of aging and
age-associated diseases have national and international relevance.
