Alpha-synuclein is well-known for its key role in Parkinson disease, but it is also found in the brain pathology of Alzheimer disease and half a dozen other neurologic disorders. Alpha-synuclein deposits may occur by them-selves, but also frequently co-localize with deposits of tau and amyloid-beta. |
