An example of these types of studies were presented in Part 1 of the landfill site. A key issue was how to define relatively homogeneous exposure areas. In the absence of “hard” exposure data, there is a trade-off between bias and precision; small areas may be more homogenous in terms of exposure but small sample sizes will lead to less precision. |
