Visual hallucinations may be one of the first symptoms noted. Patients may suffer from delusions and depression. LB disease is characterized by 1/ detailed visual hallucinations, 2/ Parkinsonian signs and changes in attention—alertness.
Treatment is symptomatic, often involving the use of medication to control the Parkinsonian and psychiatric symptoms. Antiparkinsonian medication that may help to reduce tremor and loss of muscle movement, but can worsen symptoms like hallucinations and delusions.
