Clinical features include
fatigue, abdominal pain, loss of appetite, intermittent nausea, diarrhea, and
jaundice.
The disease varies in severity from a mild illness lasting 1 to 2 weeks to a severely disabling disease lasting several months. The severity of the illness appears to increase with age, but complete recovery is the general rule. Mortality has been known to occur in the very young, adults over 50, and persons with chronic liver disease. No chronic infection is known to occur. |
