Casualty evacuation is movement from initial
Level 1 care often provided by the field medic or corpsman to a forward
surgical team. Overwhelmingly this job is done by the Army and the Navy and
it is a daunting task. They must use a vehicle of opportunity or secure a
safe landing zone for a rotary aircraft and provide care under fire until
this can be achieved. The mission is paramount and must be completed. The
only time CCATT has been involved in this situation is during work with
Special Operations Forces in Afghanistan. |
