scattered in a straight line.
The correlation is positive if high values of one variable are associated
with high values of another variable, but the points do not have to fall
exactly on a straight line.
The correlation is negative if values from a variable are minors when the
values of another variable increases, but the points do not have to fall in
a straight line.
