Supercourse is
different from a traditional distance learning model. Most of distance learning program in the US is for the students who work during daytime and live in their hometown but want to have further education in a better school and to get a degree. Versus, Supercourse is designed to support professors in higher education who teach medicine or public health. Supercourse lectures can be used by students but it’s not a degree program. Distance learning usually requires highbandwidth network equipment, but Supercourse requires low bandwidth minimum hardware/software equipments. Distance learning is quite domestic. Most of programs are designed for domestic student not for international students. Supercourse is designed for global utilization. The content is also in a global health perspective. Most importantly, distance learning is very expensive to develop. Tuition fee is also very high. Supercourse is self-sustainable with very low budget. The lectures are for free of charge too. |
