Asthma symptoms can be triggered by a variety of things. Everybody’s asthma is different, so what causes one person to have symptoms might not have an effect on another person. Also, things other than those listed here might cause someone to experience symptoms.
Allergens: dust, mold, pollen (trees, grass, flowers), cockroaches, and animal fur may cause asthma symptoms to appear.
Irritants: cigarette smoke, dust or chemicals, air pollution, scented products (perfume, shampoo, soap), and cleaning products can all trigger symptoms.
Foods: Sulfites in food and drinks, as well as a variety of other foods can trigger symptoms.
Medicines: aspirin, other NSAIDS (non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), and non selective beta blockers (used for treating certain problems, anxiety, and PTSD).
Physical activity and viral upper respiratory infections also can trigger asthma symptoms and attacks. |
