States are sorted according to the mortality in white men. In several states, CHD mortality (ICD codes 410-414, 429.2) was about the same between black and white men: e.g New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. CHD Mortality (ICD codes 410-414, 429.2) among men aged 35-44 was more than two times higher in black men than in white men in Mississippi, Missouri, South Carolina, and Illinois.
