According to UN-OCHA Situation Report No 3, 1.6 million people live
within 5 km of the coast at 5 Prefectures affected by tsunami (Iwate,
Miyagi, Fukushima, Ibaraki and Chiba). More than 371,000 people have
been evacuated to evacuation centres located at tsunami affected areas
in the north-east.
