I am a consultant in health promotion and health management who has worked in Muslim countries including Egypt, Pakistan and Afghanistan. I have worked in health promotion and training of health professionals for more than 20 years. I was recently involved in producing Policy Guidelines for Hygiene Education in Afghanistan supported by UNICEF, DACAAR and Save the Children UK.

I feel there is a lack of training materials for heath professionals who wish to use the Islamic framework for health education. This presentation is aimed at professionals and community leaders who are, or would like to be, health educators in Muslim communities.

I would be very pleased to receive comments from everyone who reads this, especially trainers and health educators.
