Of course, these breakthroughs have also led to huge increases in healthcare
costs and a widening divide in the type of treatment available to individuals
based on their ability to pay. From a public health point of view – the bottom line is: we spend more and get less. Spend on whom? When? And for what purpose/ outcome? The amount spent on medicated survival vs. health promotion, early detection and early intervention is an outrage! |
