- The first is
our own effort at the Centre for Health Promotion,
which arose out of our international symposia on the Effectiveness of Health Promotion in
1996 and 2001 - The Symposia asked experts to review evidence on the effectiveness of health promotion in relation to the five action areas of the Ottawa Charter (1996) and on six operational strategies (2001) - This resulted in publication of individual papers,a synthesis paper and proceedings which are available though our Web Site - The second is the US Task Force on Community Preventive Services which I have just mentioned, which will summarize what is known about the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of population-based interventions for prevention, provide recommendations on these interventions and methods for their delivery based on the evidence, and identify a prevention research agenda. - The third is the Health Development Agency in the United Kingdom which has carried out reviews of effectiveness in relation to particular issues related to the implementation of a national health promotion plan - The fourth is the Cochrane Collaboration which has established health promotion as a field of study |
