TWAS-ARO Young Affiliates 2013-2017: Call for Nominations

Nomination deadline: 1 April 2013.
Every year, each of the five TWAS Regional Offices selects up to five scientists to be 'TWAS Young Affiliates' for a period of five years.
During their tenure, Affiliates are invited to participate in TWAS general meetings and conferences.
This program, which began in 2007, seeks to identify the best young scientists in each region of the developing world and provide them with opportunities to network with one another, and with TWAS Fellows, as well as attend international conferences and other events for young scientists.
The appointments are made for a period of five years (covering five TWAS General Meetings).
Eligibility Criteria:
- Less than 40 years old by January 2013.
- Native of a developing country from the Arab Region.
- Has at least 10 international publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Has lived and worked in a developing country for at least the past three years.
Nominations will only be accepted and valid from:
- Members of TWAS-ARO (http://www.bibalex.org/twasaro/members/list.htm)
- Science academies, national research councils, universities, scientific institutions and individual scientists from the Arab region.
A signed and stamped official nomination letter should be sent along with the nomination form (signed and dated by Nominator), with the CV and the list of publications to israa.elfayoumi@bibalex.org; copying: twas.aro@bibalex.org before 1 April 2013.
