The 2022 TWAS-CAS Young Scientists Award for Frontier Science

• Eligible candidates: Young scientists not older than 45 years of age, living and working in a developing country.
• In 2022 the award will recognize a young scientist for achievements in the Earth Sciences.
• The recipient receives USD10,000.

 The 2022 TWAS─Atta-ur-Rahman Award in Chemistry

• Eligible candidates: Young chemists (not older than 40), national of a Scientifically and Technologically Lagging country (STLC).

AWARD FOR SUSTAINABILITY IN SCIENCE 

The 2022 TWAS-Samira Omar Innovation for Sustainability Award

• Eligible candidates: Scientists from Least Developing Countries (LDCs)
• The award recognizes scientific achievements in an area, including multidisciplinary work, directly relevant to the science of sustainability
• The recipient receives USD 4,000.

AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING MATHEMATICAL WORK

The 2022 TWAS - Mohammad A. Hamdan Award

• This award is given for outstanding mathematical work, carried out by a scientist national of an African or Arab country.
• The award recognizes outstanding mathematical work (pure, applied, probability, statistics).
• The recipient receives USD 5,000.

AWARDS TO WOMEN SCIENTISTS 
   
The 2022 TWAS-Abdool Karim Award: This annual award is named after the distinguished TWAS Fellow Professor Quarraisha Abdool Karim.

• Eligible candidates: Women scientists national of a Low Income African country.
• The award recognizes scientific achievements in Biological Sciences.
• The recipient receives USD 5,000.

The 2022 TWAS-Fayzah M. Al-Kharafi Award: This annual award, named after the distinguished TWAS Fellow Professor Fayzah M. Al-Kharafi, rotates among various fields of science.

•  Eligible candidates: Women scientists from Scientifically and Technologically Lagging countries (STLCs)
• In 2022 the award will recognize a women scientist from a STLC for achievements in Agricultural Sciences or Biology.
• The recipient receives USD 4,000.
