The TWAS-ARO Regional Prize 2014 for Science Diplomacy will honour teams who have collaborated on a transboundary research project contributing to, or made possible by, good international relations. The aim is to begin to bring the term 'Science Diplomacy' to the attention of both the research and diplomatic communities in developing countries.

The World Academy of Sciences for the advancement of science in developing countries' Arab Regional Office (TWAS-ARO) held its 9th Annual Meeting, 29-30 December 2013, at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. On the occasion of its annual meeting, an inter-disciplinary forum on Science and Education held under the theme: Science and Technology Education for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region.
