Within the framework of the Young Scientists Training Program, held to provide young scientists with needed skills to advance their career and achieve their professional goals, TWAS-AREP organizes an online workshop with the theme “Biodiversity Towards Sustainable Food Systems in the Arab Region” on 13-14 December 2022.

The workshop will address Biodiversity and Agro-Food Systems, with special emphasis on their inter-correlation with climate change. It will discuss the Agro-Foods nexus in depth, and biodiversity challenges facing Arab countries as a consequence of climate change. 

Application deadline: Saturday, 3 December 2022.

Eligibility Criteria: 

- Applicant aged 40 or less

- Master/PhD students and PhD holders in life and natural science fields.

- Living/working in developing countries.

- Women scientists and Refugees and/or displaced scientists living in any country are highly encouraged to apply.

The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) and TWAS have established a fellowship programme for foreign scholars from developing countries in the South who wish to pursue research toward a PhD in a field of the natural and related applied sciences, in departments and laboratories of public and private universities of Turkey and TÜBİTAK Research Centers and Institutes.
