In celebration of the International Year of Light (UNESCO 2015), the TWAS-ARO chose the theme of “The Use of Light-Based Technologies for Sustainable Development in the Arab Region” for the Young Arab Scientist (YAS) Prize 2015.
The prize Will be awarded to a young Arab scientist who contributed to the development of the Arab world by providing solutions to global challenges in Agriculture, Environment, Health, Socioeconomic and Energy.
The value of the prize is 3,000 USD.
Eligibility:
Applicants must :
- Be Natives of an Arab country.
- Be Living and working in an Arab country.
- Hold a PhD.
- Have a proven track record in his/her field.
- Be under 40 years old by 1 January 2015.
Nominations will Only be Accepted from:
- Members of TWAS-ARO;
- Or; Science academies, national research councils, universities and scientific institutions from the Arab region.
N.B: Self-nominations are not valid.
