LYM Session - 5 July 2009
05 July 2009
Welcome back to our program “League of young Masters”. After a long pause for exams we returned to our weekly meetings that we were waiting for.
Our meeting began with the presence of Mme Layla Abdel-Hadi and Dr. Salah Soliman. We watched together a small welcoming movie that expressed what we learn in our program and what are we here for. The movie was made by Samar Soliman, Abdel-Aziz Fathi and Yehia El-Maghrabi.
Then, Lara El-Malakh from the BA CSSP Department gave us a presentation about a Darwin conference that will be held in Bibalex next November.
Our last presentation was about the subject that everyone now is talking about, “Swine Flu”. Rowan Mohamed, Mohamed Shadi and Ahmed Mayssara explained the history of swine flu and gave us various information about this disease; how it is transmitted between living creatures and what symptoms could appear on the virus carrier. They also compared between it and the seasonal flu that we may get at any time. They mentioned some statistics revealing that, so far, normal seasonal flu kill more people than swine flu.
